Events industry supplier Piggotts is to invest £500k in new equipment ahead of what it describes as “a period of unprecedented growth for the company’s marquees division”.
Despite the natural surge in Olympics based business, Piggotts, which supplies marquees, creative displays, Christmas lighting, flags and banners, is looking beyond 2012 and investing in additional stock as part of, what the company says, is a long-term approach to its business strategy.
“This move will aim to meet the increasing demands of new and existing clients, as well as a number of long-term partnerships that Piggotts has developed,” the company says. “These include a number of public sector clients and events such as the Suffolk Show.”
The new investment will pay for over 6,000sqm of cassette flooring, 600m of ABS walls, 25 sets of doors and over 1,000sqm of structures to its existing inventory held at its 12 acre site in Ongar, in Essex.
The marquees division provides services for events including The Isle of Wight Rock Festival, Twickenham and The Leander Club, Henley.
Piggotts MD Lee Harvey said: “By investing half a million pounds in new equipment we are not only able to meet the demands of new clients, but we can also offer assurance to our long-standing partners that we can supply marquees for their growing needs.
“Our long-term approach has been key to our success for a number of years, and we look forward to welcoming new clients on board during and after the Olympic period.”
