etc.venues and Trinity Conferences on board for HBAA’s Boss in a Boat

The Hotel Booking Agents Association’s (HBAA) ‘Boss in a Boat’ fundraising initiative for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has recruited the first crew who have agreed to be rescued from the sea.

Taking place on 2 May, Head of Business Development for etc.venues, Brendon Smith, will be joined by the MD for Trinity Conferences, Jacqui Kavanagh, and other crew members, who will be cast adrift in waters off the south coast.

Floating in the middle of the sea, the fundraisers will be armed with mobile phones to call business associates, friends and family to help raise funds for the HBAA’s chosen charity for 2012, the RNLI.

“I’m thrilled to be asked to take part and help raise funds for such a worthy cause,” says Smith. “My colleagues at etc.venues are fully behind the ‘Boss in a Boat’ idea and I will certainly be contacting them as well as our clients to help us raise funds for the HBAA’s charity.”

Kavannagh says: “I enjoy sailing and fully appreciate the value of the RNLI, hence my commitment to both the day and to raising as much money as we can.”

The HBAA’s Chairman, Chris Peacock, says: “It’s great to see Brendon and Jacqui agree to come on board the boat. We have more popular industry faces to announce over the coming days and hope that their teams get behind them as etc.venues and Trinity Conferences have.”
