Reed Travel Exhibitions’ (RTE) Business Travel Market reports signing up its first 100 Hosted Buyers in record time this year. The ‘hot’ 100 represent a combined buying power of €2.8bn (£2.3bn), according to RTE.
The Business Travel Market has doubled in size since it was launched in 2009 and was acquired by RTE last autumn.
Brands signed up to attend include Microsoft, Santander, PricewaterhouseCoopers, HSBC, Unilever, Ernst & Young and Mittal.
Commenting on the positive reaction to the show, Paul Robin, Event Director, said: “We can accommodate up to 500 buyers on the hosted programme. These buyers participate at Business Travel Market because they can prearrange appointments with the right suppliers at the right time of year before the RFP season.
“This response demonstrates that buyers are here not just to look, but have positive business meetings with the premium brands we will once again have at the show.”
Business Travel Market takes place on 13-14 June 2012.
The ramping up of the BTM hosted buyer programme follows Centaur’s revamping of its Business Travel Show hosted buyer programme in February 2012.
The 2012 Business Travel Show, held at Earls Court, attracted 197 exhibitors, a figure up from 134 in 2011. Pre-audited visitor figures of 6,300 represented an increase of 27 per cent on last year.

Show Director David Chapple told CN his show’s exhibitor numbers represented double the figure for the nearest competitor show, Business Travel Market, and said he’d had “the busiest and best BTS in years”.
