WBR selects Cognito for social media and event expertise

Worldwide Business Research (WBR), which claims to be the world’s biggest large-scale conference company, has partnered with integrated communications firm Cognito to promote its flagship European event, TradeTech.
This marks the fourth year of the partnership and the agency will use both traditional PR methods with a social media programme, leveraging Cognito’s proprietary social media technology platform, Cognito Analytics.
Cognito will aim to build substantial profile around the event and give TradeTech a greater share of voice and social media impact inside and outside its traditional network.
“We have worked with Cognito since2009 to promote various shows in the TradeTech portfolio, in the UK and US, and recently joined forces with them for TradeTech Asia in Singapore,” said Sales Director Finance Portfolio for WBR, Henry Wallis. “The partnership now supports TradeTech’s social footprint, while Cognito will continue to coordinate with buy-side media and the analyst community.”
TradeTech Europe is a forum dedicated to high-level discussion on the major challenges facing the electronic trading market, 24 and 26 April, at Excel London.
At the event, over 3,000 buy and sell-side trading professionals will listen to over 140 speakers and meet with over 120 exhibitors, including many of the City’s largest investment banks. The event aims to attract 700 buy-side firms.
The 2012 programme will take on a brand new format, delivered via five industry specific streams: Market Structure and Regulation, Trading Infrastructure, Trading Venue Strategy, Buy-side Focus and Listed Futures and Options.
WBR is part of the PLS group, a provider of strategic business intelligence with 16 offices worldwide. Every year over 10,000 senior executives from Fortune 1000 (or Fortune 100?) companies attend over 100 annual conferences run by WBR.
