Sodexo Prestige has secured a seven-year contract (subject to contract approval) to provide catering services across the St Edmundsbury Collection of venues in Suffolk.

The diverse council-owned portfolio of venues consists of the Apex, The Athenaeum, Abbey Gardens and Moyse’s Hall Museum.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council (SEBC) had been looking to appoint a partner to support it in realising their ambitions for the town and to add value to its event and cultural programmes.

Sodexo Prestige has committed to a policy of “local venues for local people”, and through significant investment will look to develop the venues’ offerings across meetings, conferences, private parties and weddings, as well as creating new public catering outlets.

Sodexo Prestige Account Director Richard Wheeler said: “Central to being awarded this contract was our ability to illustrate local knowledge, culinary flare, environmental credentials and commercial approach. We are delighted to be working with a forward thinking, environmentally responsible client in St Edmundsbury Borough Council.”

Councillor Sara Mildmay-White, Cabinet Member for Culture and Sport from St Edmundsbury Borough Council, said: “We have undertaken a thorough process to find a partner to help us to develop the catering and hospitality potential of our popular town centre venues. I am delighted that Sodexo Prestige share our ambitions and that the agreement will benefit council tax payer and customers alike.”
