Janet Street-Porter to speak at the 2012 Academic Venue Show

Celebrity journalist and TV broadcaster Janet Street-Porter has been recruited as guest speaker for the 2012 Academic Venue Show.
The show, which will take place on 16 May at the Emirates Stadium in London, is a one-day exhibition held annually to showcase the range of meeting and accommodation facilities available to hire at academic venues. The show gives event organisers an opportunity to meet with 50 venues from across the UK.
Known from popular TV shows such as Loose Women, I’m a Celebrity… and Question Time, Street-Porter is a well recognised media person and a national columnist. She was an editor of The Independent on Sunday and helped launch the first commercial radio station LBC. She has also won a number of industry awards including a BAFTA for originality and the Prix Italia for Arts programming.
In her presentation, she will talk about her successful career in journalism, her motivation to succeed in the media and her experiences from both behind and in front of the camera.
“We’re honoured to have such an excellent guest speaker at this year’s exhibition,” says CEO of Venuemasters, Terry Billingham. “Janet Street-Porter is already proving very popular with visitors registering to attend the event. The preparations for the 2012 show are now in full swing and the team is looking forward to this year’s event being bigger and better than ever.”
This year, there are 10 new exhibitors including Harper Adams University College, University of Liverpool and Robinson College Cambridge.
