Carlton House Terrace completes £1m refurbishment

Central London venue and the home of the British Academy, Carlton House Terrace, has completed its £1m refurbishment, which has taken over two years to complete.

The refurbishment gives event organisers the ability to use both houses seamlessly as they are now interconnected on each floor.

The venue also benefits from three new lifts, new bathrooms and kitchen as well as environmentally-friendly lighting and being fully Disability Discrimination Act compliant.

The auditorium now contains the latest AV equipment including a stage and microphones, plus data projection, surround sound, Wi-Fi access and a hearing loop.

To complete the look, both venues have been painted using historical colours from the 18th Century to complement the French-inspired decor.

Once the home of former Prime Minister William Gladstone, the venue has 10 rooms to hire each with unique period features. The venue has views over The Mall and Horseguard’s Parade.
