Latest event industry TweetUp to be hosted at Altitude 360 Black

The latest event industry TweetUp, hosted by Altitude London on its 28th floor venue Altitude 360 Black, is to be held tonight (13 February 2012).

Altitude claims it’s is the only event industry networking event taking place during social media week.

The event will allow the industry to meet, network and get a chance to learn more about social networking tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and Flickr from people in the events industry who are using them.

Guest speakers at this event include social media strategist, trainer and international speaker Tiffany St James who will be talking about creating lasting digital footprints for events using social media.

The organiser has employed the help of art students who will be using the venues huge windows to doodle all of the Olympic venues as well as the locations of social savvy businesses in London including Twitter and Facebook. They will be taking doodle requests from guests on the night to draw locations such as their offices.

Designed for event industry professionals who want to learn more and join the social media conversation, these events bring together like-minded people in a face-to-face environment who are already sharing information and conversing online.

“Social
media is a useful tool to interact with potential
and current stakeholders, a way
to spread
your messages and news, and interact with key media outlets
to help spread the word,” CN Online Editor Sarah O’Donnell says. “Technology
has evolved because we craved the interaction. Not visa versa. Social media should
add value to your day rather than complicate it and if done well, it can be easy to use and
deliver a real ROI.

“This event will really harness what is out there and teach guest the best practice.
