Congrex wins European liver association contract

The European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) has selected Congrex Switzerland as its key PCO partner for its most important conference in hepatology, starting in 2014.

The bidding process lasted nearly a year and Professor Mark Thursz, Secretary General of EASL, said he expected Congrex to deliver “an outstanding service”.

The International Liver Congress gathers 8,000 clinicians, scientists and otherdelegates.

Congrex brings to the table ‘more-than-30-years’ experience and in-depth knowledge of organising major medical conferences.

“We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to manage the ILC 2014”, announced Congrex Switzerland’s Regional Managing Director Alain Pittet. “We look forward to delivering on our promises, to EASL, to be an imaginative and caring association partner that understands the longer term strategic visions of EASL now and into the future.”

The International Liver Congress 2012 will be held in Barcelona and the 2013 edition in Amsterdam. 2014 is not yet confirmed.

The current PCO is Kenes.
