Buxted Park Hotel named Hand Picked Hotels’ Hotel of the Year 2011

Buxted Park Hotel in Uckfield, East Sussex, has been named Hand Picked Hotels’ ‘Hotel of the Year 2011’, for achieving “excellent customer and employee satisfaction in 2011”.
Hand Picked Hotels, a collection of 17 country house hotels located across the UK, holds an annual awards ceremony to celebrate the highlights of the hotels in the collection and ‘Hotel of the Year’ is selected by the Hand Picked Hotels board.
Buxted Park Hotel, along with Rhinefield House Hotel, was also recognised for being awarded with the AA’s highest accolade of red stars in 2011. They join Chilston Park Hotel, Crathorne Hall Hotel, Ettington Park Hotel, Norton House Hotel, Seiont Manor Hotel and Wood Hall Hotel who were all recognised for maintaining their red-star status.
The two other major awards included ‘Consistent Hotel of the Year’ which was awarded to Crathorne Hall Hotel in North Yorkshire, winner of the ‘Hotel of the Year Award 2010’, and ‘Most Improved Hotel of the Year’, won by Hendon Hall Hotel in Hendon, North London.
The Hand Picked Hotels judging committee included board members Chairman and CEO, Julia Hands; Operations Director Douglas Waddell; Commercial Director Ken Arkley and Finance Director Mandy Newton as well as Deputy Operations Director Margaret Erstad; Head of HR Deborah Seymour; Group HR Assistant Keely Dobinson and Office Manager and PA to Chairman, Louise Fiksen.
Hand Picked Hotels collection was created by former City lawyer Julia Hands and consists of 17 hotels across the UK.
