Vinopolis appoints new Acting MD and Head of Events

Simon Wood has stepped in as Acting MD of London’s wine tasting and events venue, Vinopolis, after its head Samantha Cox left the company to become CEO of Convivial London Pubs.
Wood is the Chairman of Vinum, which manages and caters for Vinopolis’ restaurants Cantina, Brew Wharf and Wine Wharf. He will oversee both the corporate and consumer aspects of the business in his new role.
Vinopolis has also recruited Marjory Brown (pictured) as Head of Events, whose responsibilities include managing the event sales and operations teams and leading key accounts for corporate clients.
Brown was previously Business Development Manager for Concerto Group. She also previously worked as Senior Events Manager at Cityvenue Plaisterers’ Hall for the company’s catering arm, Create Party Food and Design.
“My main aim is to ensure that we gain a significant amount of new business in the next few years as well as maintaining key contracts and growing our reputation as the venue of choice in central London,” said Brown.
