Paul Southern has been appointed Managing Director of Central Hall Westminster. The London venue claims to be the largest conference centre in central London with 30 meeting rooms, an exhibition area and an auditorium holding 2,000 people.
The brief for Southern is to make Central Hall Westminster more commercial in all areas and to introduce it to the corporate world.
“I am very excited about this opportunity,” Southern says. “Central Hall was built 100 years ago and it has huge experience in a whole range of events from a Kanye West concert to the recent Royal Wedding, and yet most corporate event organisers in London have not even set foot in here.”
Southern adds that it is “very refreshing to be working in such an enthusiastic and ethical environment”.
Southern recently completed a series of event consultancy roles with UCL, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Stoneleigh Park and London Wasps. He was previously a Director and Shareholder of European Events, and before that at The Ultimate Event Company.
