The CCD celebrates 300 events in its first year

The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD), celebrating its first anniversary, says it has hosted over 300 events and welcomed 170,000 visitors in this past year.
“It has been an honour to be part of the dedicated and passionate team at The CCD over the past 12 months,” said CEO of The CCD, Nick Waight. “With over 170,000 visitor days to date, including the Royal visit, it has been an incredible year.
“Our goal is to be the best conference centre in Europe by 2014 and I’m delighted to share that we are well on our way to reaching this target.”
Events hosted at The CCD to date include the 39th European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association Conference, European Union of Geriatric Medicine Society Conference, International Statistical Institute Conference, Google EMEA Sales Conference, IBM conference, British Embassy Return Event on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, X-Factor Live Auditions, American Chamber of Commerce 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner and David Gray in concert.
The CCD has also secured a host of events right up until 2015 including International Water Association World Congress, EuroPRevent, 35th European Cystic Fibrosis, 16th International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders, Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution, International Congress on Accident andEmergency Medicine, Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland Conference, and Taste of Christmas.
Developed by Treasury Holdings, The CCD is situated in Spencer Dock on the banks of the River Liffey.
The venue is configured to accommodate conferences from eight to 8,000 participants in 22 meeting rooms. Its iconic design includes a 2,000-seat auditorium, 4,500sqm of exhibition space and banqueting facilities for up to 3,000 guests.
