HIC develops retail sector with business worth £350,000

The Harrogate International Centre (HIC) claims to have “significantly increased” its share of retail-related events during the last three months.

Following its hosting of an event by fashion retailer Joules in December 2010, the HIC has focused on new business within the retail sector. The venue projects the retail events will bring at least £350,000 worth of revenue to HIC.

“Despite the on-going challenges faced by retailers, we have significantly increased our share of retail related events during the last three months,” Head of Sales and Marketing for the HIC, Alison Griffin, said. “These include new signings as well as additional business from old clients.”

Key events include the Ann Summers tradeshow (See CN July 2011’s ’On the Road’ feature); PartyLite trade show; and a large builders’ merchants trade show.

The HIC’s new halls will open in November 2011.
