Four Red Stars awarded to two Hand Picked Hotels

Hand Picked Hotels has been awarded the AA’s accolade of four Red Stars for Buxted Park Hotel in Ashdown Forest, East Sussex, and for Rhinefield House Hotel in Brockenhurst, Hampshire.
The AA announced the new Red Stars on 26 September at a ceremony in London. Eight of the 17 hotels in the Hand Picked Hotels collection now have the Red Star status, placing them in the top 200 hotels in the UK and Ireland.
“The AA identifies the highest performing hotels in Britain and Ireland as the AA Inspectors’ Choice, denoted by Red Stars,” said an AA spokesperson. “This is the AA’s supreme accolade, used to recognise hotels that stand out as the very best, regardless of size or style.”
Built in 1722 by Sir Thomas Medley, Buxted Park has played host to society’s movers and shakers including William Wordsworth, Winston Churchill and Marlon Brando. Buxted Park is set in 312 acres of private grounds and parkland, which includes three large lakes, a deer park and a walled garden. It has 44 bedrooms and reception rooms and is available to meetings and conferences.
Built in 1887, Rhinefield House Hotel is set among towering pine trees in 40 acres of grounds in the New Forest and offers a 2 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant and a Grill restaurant, meeting facilities, 50 bedrooms, an outdoor pool, plus a small indoor leisure facility.
