Photo story: Madame Tussauds unveils Jessica Ennis wax figure

Organisers hosting events at London attraction Madame Tussauds will be able to tap into the London 2012 Olympic Games fever with guests mingling with the new £150,000 wax figure of World Champion heptathlete, Jessica Ennis.
With a year to go until the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in London, the Merlin Entertainments’ attraction decided to add the Olympic hopeful to its interactive Sports Zone, which currently includes the likes of Lewis Hamilton, David Beckham and Mohammed Ali.
The attraction hopes, with the addition of other Team Great Britain athletes in the future, to create a special dedicated area themed on London 2012.
“The buzz around London 2012 is fantastic and the anticipation is mounting,” said GM of Merlin Events London, Michael Aldridge. “Organisers hosting events at Madame Tussauds in the run up to and during the 2012 Games will be able to pose alongside Jessica and other team GB hopefuls in a dedicated area.”
Portrayed in an iconic post-race celebration pose with her arms raised triumphantly as she holds aloft a Union Jack flag, Innis said: “I cannot believe just how realistic it is. They’ve got me down to a tee.  Every little detail is so accurate from the eyes, right down to my abs – it is quite strange to be looking at your exact double.”
