Well Met cleans up at Leeds Hotel and Venue Association Awards

Well Met Conferencing at Leeds Metropolitan University is celebrating after scooping three trophies at the Leeds Hotel and Venue Association Awards.
at the Leeds Marriott Hotel on 16 June, the fourth annual awards was
hosted bypresenter and speaker Adrienne Lawler and recognised talent
within the city’s hospitality sector.
Collectively, the 34
members of the LHVA represent in excess of 5,000 bedrooms, 3,500 staff
and £170m in joint turnover and from this, seven winners were selected
from a shortlist of over 60 nominations.
Well Met Conferencing’s
Dawn Turner scooped gold with her ‘Bright Idea’ nomination and the
‘Leeds Live it Love it’ accolade went to Well Met’s Carnegie Village
venue for being instrumental in attracting high profile business to the
city from all over the world. Since opening just 18 months ago, Carnegie
Village has hosted the Language Study Centre, Council for Europe, the
South African Olympic Delegation and the England Rugby Union Junior
By successfully securing business from the Language Study
Centre, Carnegie Village has brought over 450 students and 30 tutors to
the city within the last year, representing over £450,000 of revenue
for the university and over £680,000 in economic impact for the city.
This achievement will be repeated again in summer 2011.
Met’s Geoff Ibbotson achieved a highly commended for his commitment to
Exceptional Customer Service. Ibbotson was nominated due to his
dedication to supporting clients and colleagues and consistently going
thatextra mile to ensure events are successful.
The Hiltons
Janet McAteer received the Exceptional Customer Service Award for her
attitude towards her daily duties – demonstrating how she goes above and
beyond her line of duty to help others. Amongst this years winners was
Lucy Heaton from Leeds Marriott who won the Rising Star Award with her
dynamic attitude and confidence to her work as Assistant Restaurant and
Bar Manager.
