The QEIICC celebrates 25th anniversary with Twitter initiative

The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC) is celebrating its
25th anniversary this month and is launching a series of initiatives and
promotions to mark the occasion.

The first initiative is a
Twitter campaign, launching on the 24 June, to find the top 25 events
industry innovations of the past 25 years.

“Over the past 25
years, the QEIICC has hosted an estimated 9,000 events, many of them
marking significant moments in history,” said Commercial Director, Sue Etherington.
“We decided to celebrate the anniversary with a year long campaign,
starting with an initiative to ask our Twitter followers and key
industry spokespeople to name the innovation they feel has had the most
impact on the events industry in the past 25 years.”

“We are
also proud of the many client relationships we have that span the
decades; for the past twenty years the centre has been the home of the
winter meetings of the British Thoracic Society and host to the Historic
Houses Association. The Bio Partnering Europe Conference has been with
us for fifteen years and we were the venue for BBC’s Sports Personality
of the Year for 10 years.”

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the 24 June 1986, and has been host to
or played a part in the following events:
