Four UK companies shortlisted in Million Dollar Memo campaign

Four UK companies shortlisted in Tourism Queensland Million Dollar Memo campaign

PR
agency Radio Relations, digital agency Reading Room, waste management
specialist Tetronics, and media-buying agency Total Media are the four
UK companies shortlisted in Tourism Queensland’s Million Dollar Memo
campaign.

The winning company will score an incentive trip for
their staff to Queensland, Australia, as part of a AU$1m (£620,000)
global business competition.

The shortlisted are part of 70
international finalists after 290 applications were whittled down.
Tourism Queensland CEO Anthony Hayes says they increased the shortlist
from 50 to 70 as a result of the large number of high quality entries.

Entrants
needed to upload a video of why their company deserves to win a luxury
trip to Queensland.Video applications highlighted offices turned into an
exotic island and London’s skyline receiving a tropical makeover.

“We
were so impressed with the quality and creativity of the entries that
we found it impossible to shortlist to just 50,” Hayes said. “It’s also
pretty evident that the companies who’ve entered are all keen to reward
their hard-working staff and that the employees themselves are also
enthusiastic about the possibility of an amazing incentive trip to
Queensland.”

Tourism Queensland’s international director, UK,
Ireland and Nordic regions, Jane Nicholson, says the shortlist contains
entries from over 19 countries, so Britain stepped up to the challenge
by having four companies making it through.

The campaign was launched in March 2011 and was developed by the same tourist board behind the ‘Best Job in the World’ campaign.
