O2 on board with UK Fair Pricing and Practice Charter

The O2 has signed up to the 2012 UK Fair Pricing and Practice Charter.
Created by Visit London (now London and Partners) and VisitBritain and endorsed and supported by Olympic organising committee LOCOG, the Charter was launched to ensure venues, hotels and hospitality suppliers keep their pricing fair and reasonable during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As a host venue The O2’s main arena will house the Artisitc Gymnastics, Trampoline, Basketball and Wheelchair Basketball. The O2’s additional event spaces, which include indigO2, a 1,600 capacity venue, The O2 Bubble, British Music Experience, as well as a range of internal and external blank canvas spaces, are yet to be hired during the games.
Speaking on the importance of the Charter, Sally Davies, Events Director at The O2 said: “We recognise that the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games present us with a fantastic opportunity to showcase the dynamic capabilities of our venue from music to sport, events and hospitality.  As a landmark city venue, we want to be a hive of activity during the Games.
“By signing the Charter we hope to demonstrate that we are committed to fair pricing and encourage agents and sponsors to consider our other versatile spaces during the Games period”.
The O2 attracts 7.2m visitors a year and has, to date, generated a total economic impact of 1.4bn.
