Meetings Performance Consultant Jonathan Bradshaw has launched the Meetology Research Institute at IMEX in Frankfurt this week.
Meetology is a new trademarked term to describe the science behind successful meetings and the Meetology Research Institute is launching an online platform for this.
The project is sponsored by the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the Dubai Convention Bureau, Meetings Mindset and the IMEX Group.
Founder Jonathan Bradshaw noted that whilst the meetings industry was becoming ever more aware of the importance of behavioural science in creating meetings, nobody was centrally collating, organising and distributing research relating to it. The Institute’s short term aim is simply to provide a valuable online research feed from areas such as psychology, neurology, nutrition, physiology and wider behavioural science.
Bradshaw said: “My interest in performance science means that I come across numerous pieces of behavioural science research every month and realised that the information was a valuable and ever-growing collection of knowledge which could not only help those who organise meetings create better ones, but also help attendees perform better too.”
