Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB) announced 12 April that Molly Doheny, the organisation’s Head of Convention Bureau, is to take early retirement. She will leave GCMB at the end of September and a search for her replacement is now underway.
Chief Executive of GCMB Scott Taylor said: “Molly has made a fantastic contribution to Glasgow and has played a major part in the city becoming Scotland’s conference capital.
”She has built up an exceptional team and are sad to see Molly leave but fully understand her reasons for doing so and wish her the very best in her future plans.”
As well as ensuring a handover with her successor, Doheny will also be on secondment to the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee until September, where her responsibilities will include assisting the Organising Committee in defining the accommodation requirements for the various client groups who attend the Commonwealth Games in an official capacity.
She will begin the selection of specific hotels required by VIPs and Dignitaries visiting the Games.

Glasgow achieved £150m in conventions and meetings sales for the financial year 2010-2011.
