Manchester United’s Conference and Events division has secured the 2011 International Vehicle Crime Conference.
Hosted by the International Association of Auto Theft Investigators, the conference will be held at the Old Trafford stadium, 11-12 May, and organisers expect 200 delegates from across the police, government, motor industry and insurance sectors.
The Assistant Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police and Home Office representatives will join the debate on vehicle crime trends and discuss new technology designed to combat vehicle crime.
The conference will represent the first time the stadium has played host to the IAATI and the club is delighted with their latest signing.
Rekha Houghton, Head of Conferencing and Events at Manchester United said she was delighted to be welcoming the IAATI and their delegates to Old Trafford.
“We’re sure the event will be a great success and we might even sneak some tours in for a few lucky attendees,” she added.
Ian Platt of the IAATI said “I am delighted to bring this year’s International Vehicle Crime Conference to Old Trafford. I look forward to a very successful event and would like to thank Manchester United for their hospitality. Our delegates, exhibitors, speakers and guests have all expressed their delight at my choice of venue, and look forward to it immensely. I also hope the publicity IAATIworldwide will bring to the event will also benefit the world brand of Manchester United F.C.”
Manchester United’s Conference and Events team also hosted X Factor auditions for a fourth consecutive year last week.
Organiser Talkback Thames welcomed 6,500 people for auditions which were spread throughout the stadium’s boxes and suites.
