Amazing £8.85m investment into conference and leisure portfolio

Venue hire company, AmazingRetreats, is to invest £8.85m into its conference and leisure portfolio in 2011. The figure comes on top of £30m investment last year in purchases and development.
The company’s 12-strong property portfolio includes castles, abbeys and working watermills.
Kinnettles near Dundee and Plas Rhianfa in Anglesey are recent acquisitios and extensive renovations are under way in their outdoor spaces, including developing the marquee areas.
Banqueting space and extra rooms are being created at Morley Old Hall, Beau Castle, Ackergill Tower Plas Cilybebyll, Stanbrook Abbey and Tempsford Mill.
The highest profile refurbishment is taking place at Spitbank Fort, an island in the Solent, due to reopen later this year.
Founder and Executive Chairman of Amazing Retreats, Mike Clare, said: “The multi-million pound investment underlines our commitment to all our guests. It is important for us to ensure the portfolio remains interesting and diverse for both business and leisure guests, as well as ensuring that our properties provide the high standards expected. As a result of this investment we expect 2011 to be a busy year”.
