The organiser of the Academic Venue Show, Venuemasters, has announced it has sold out stands for its 2011 edition due to take place 11
May at the Emirates Stadium in London.
The 2010 show saw a 14 per cent increase in
visitors and 46 venues are exhibiting this time.
New venues for 2011 include London Metropolitan
University, University of Sussex, University of Limerick in the Republic of
Ireland and new consortium member University AutÃ²noma of Barcelona in Spain.
“We are very enthusiastic about participating
in the 2011 Academic Venue Show,” said Assumpta Cross, Director at the
University AutÃ²noma of Barcelona.
“We have great expectations: firstly to
contact as many companies, associations and institutions as possible that are
interested in placing their future events in Barcelona. Our second aim is to contact other
universities from the UK in order to exchange experiences
and learn from each other,” she added.
This year’s keynote will be delivered by former Tony
Blair’s former spokesman Alistair
CEO at FaceTime, Events Industry Alliance and F2F Events
Austen Hawkins will be first up to speak at the show.
Venuemasters Chief Executive Terry Billingham
says: “We’re really pleased with the interest and excitement for the 2011 show
from exhibitors. The 2010 event was a great success for us at a difficult time
for the industry, and we are looking to build on that this year. The addition of
venues in the Republic of
Ireland and Spain
