Merlin Events to give away £100,000 worth of tickets at Confex

Attractions operator Merlin Entertainments Group’s
events team is to give away tickets to its London attractions to the first 500
visitors to the Merlin Events stand at International Confex, Earls Court, 1-3
March 2011.

The tickets,
subject to activation via an online form, allow plus one access to
Madame Tussauds, Stardome 4D, Sea Life London
Aquarium, the London Dungeons and the EDF Energy
London
Eye
. Merlin Events will be sharing an exhibition area with Visit
London and other London-based venues at Confex on stand L100.

In the run-up
to the events and meetings industry
tradeshow, Merlin Events ran a tweet poll on Twitter asking the events industry
which celebrity figure from Madame
Tussauds should be at the exhibition stand. Event professionals could vote for
Prime Minister David
Cameron, Mayor Boris Johnson,
footballer David Beckham, singer Amy Winehouse and actress Helen Mirren. David
Beckham received 75 per cent of the vote.

“Social
media sites have grown quickly with a
substantial events industry presence on social networking sites like Twitter,”
says Events GM of Merlin Entertainments Group, Michael Aldridge. “We wanted a fun way
to engage with event professionals before the exhibition and decided to create
the poll, which received a great response.”
