Meetings Industry Meeting Needs raises £1,500 for computers for disabled

Conference and events industry charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN) has funded training for disabled people to make computers and software more
accessible to them.

The registered charity founded by leading figures in the
UK conference and events industry has
been working with The Aidis Trust, which helps disabled people reach their
potential through the use of computers specially adapted to their
needs.

MIMN has provided funding of £1,500 for a major training
event that shows disabled people and their carers and support workers how to use
software and hardware that will enable them to use computers through voice
recognition, touch screens and head pointers.

MIMN Committee Member David Hackett said: “This is
extraordinarily important work, opening up communication, entertainment and
education channels for people who were previously unable to use a mouse or a
keyboard – things we take for granted.”
