Macdonald Hotels & Resorts pushing ahead with £16m brand investment

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has begun a £16m refurbishment and investment programme across its portfolio of properties, with £10m being ploughed into developing its Macdonald Windsor Hotel, which opened last September.

“Whilst the sector struggles, this investment underlines our ethic as a business to remain committed to the constant improvement of our product as we service our loyal customer base,” said Sales and Marketing Director Ruaridh Macdonald. “It’s important in this market that we continue to deliver the exceptional standards we have become known for.”

Starting this year, investments include a £765k refurbishment of bedrooms at Macdonald Bear in Woodstock and a £250k upgrade to meeting facilities at Macdonald Berystede Hotel. North of the border, Macdonald Inchyra Grange is set to open its doors to a newly refurbished spa, following a £2.3m investment in the hotel’s leisure facilities. The new spa, due to open in Spring is part of an overarching £4m redevelopment.

Investments of nearly £1m will also be made to the group’s booking system and website including the development of a site purely aimed at corporate clients, with features allowing meetings’ buyers to see meeting room availability, view capacity charts, room layout plans and check delegate rates all within a few clicks.

“Our brand has become synonymous with four and five star quality and we will continue to invest across all areas of the business in order to exceed the expectations of our leisure and business guests,” Macdonald added.
