Harrogate hosts Hospital Caterers Association after a 13-year absence

The Hospital Caterers Association has staged its annual event at the Harrogate International Centre after a 13-year absence.

The event previously rotated through the Association’s 17 regional branches across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland but returned to HIC as a result of growth. This year’s HCA event was held from 8 to 9 March and included a main conference and exhibition.

“As the HCA’s event has grown we have continued to seek new venues to meet the needs of our event,” HCA Spokesperson Andrea Dalton said. “The Harrogate International Centre was an ideal choice and this year’s event proved to be a great success. Delegates came from all over the UK to the event, with numbers increasing once again.

“The exhibition hall in particular looked fantastic and its location next to the Royal Hall was ideal.”

HIC Head of Sales and Marketing Alison Griffin said the HCA was the latest in a string of larger events being held at the venue. The facility has a 16,500sqm exhibition space and is in the process of building two event halls, which will add 3,300sqm.

“Such developments ensure we appeal to an ever widening range of potential clients and organisers,” Griffin said.

The HIC recently appointed Angus Houston as its new Director.
