Go Ahead Events, the event organiser for the Toast, Hove Champagne and Brighton Wine and Polo festivals, has ceased trading and has entered liquidation, according to Companies House.
Last year Toast Festival, a cultural exhibition and festival including food and music from New Zealand, South Africa and Australia, was postponed less than one month before it was due to open.
The event was ticketed for Clapham Common 24 to 26 September 2010 but was postponed to June 2011 due to slow ticket sales. At the time, the organiser said stand and sponsorship bookings were being transferred to the new date or refunded in full.
All three events’ websites do not have return dates for 2011 and the Toast website is currently “under reconstruction”.
The Brighton-based events agency’s phone is out of service and CN was unable to request comment from the organiser on the fate of its shows.
The Hove Champagne Festival claimed to be a showcase of over 50 champagnes and sparkling wines from some of the best global houses and suppliers. The Brighton Wine and Polo Festival was due to launch in 2011 featuring more than 100 wines from around the world.
