Newbury Racecourse launches concert venue with Rod Stewart

and events venue, Newbury Racecourse, is to
launch itself for the first time as a
stand alone concert
, Newbury LIVE.

Award-winning singer and Newbury racegoer Rod Stewart will launch the live music space with a
concert on 29 May 2011.  “Penny and I have been racing at Newbury before and had
a great time so I’m delighted to be
the first person performing at Newbury LIVE and can’t wait to see everyone
there,” said Stewart.

This is the
first time that Newbury Racecourse
has staged a concert not connected to its horseracing fixtures and it will have
a capacity for 20,000 visitors.

“The racecourse has the potential to
seat over 20,000 visitors and will be transformed into an sit-down event for the Rod Stewart gig,”
says Joint Managing Director for
Newbury Racecourse, Stephen Higgins.
For future events, we will be hosting up to 60,000 in seats and
standing combined.”

Racecourse boasts over 1,000sqm of conference and entertainment space suitable for weddings, filming, outdoor
events and international summits. There are also 40 boxes suitable for small
conferences or launches, with overall capacity for up to 1,000 delegates
