Events agency Glasgows wins NUT conference in three-way pitch

Preston-based events agency Glasgows has been
appointed to produce the National Union of Teachers (NUT) annual conference
following a three-way pitch.

The agency’s Head of Business Development George
Thompson said: “The NUT annual conference is a tremendously high profile event
that will be featured on all the major news networks throughout the Easter
weekend. We’re absolutely delighted to be working with
them.”

The NUT
conference is held at the Harrogate International Centre this year and Glasgows is expecting
1,300 delegates over five days. In recent years, the conference has been held in
Cardiff, Liverpool
and Manchester, over the
Easter weekend period.

Glasgows
says it has now expanded its client base to include private and third sectors as
part of its business strategy for 2011.

“Public sector cuts have meant that we have had to
reassess our business plan for this year and we’re pleased to report that our
growth and development into other sectors has been a raging success so far,”
Thompson added.
