Conference and meeting venues across London were prepared to slash their usual fees
for last minute events towards the end of 2010 in a bid to secure bookings,
reveals venue sourcing site theeventwall.com.
Theeventwall.com says venues eager to secure business
discounted list prices by up to 65 per cent in a bid to ensure that the event
budget landed in their coffers.
Theeventwall.com’s Director Matthew Oliver says: “We
enable bookers to review and compare proposals online without having to reveal
their contact details. This means
that the proposals must stand out and we have seen that venues across the
capital are willing to be price-competitive in order to secure

received has increased and the level of savings has gone
“People often believe that it is important to keep the
budget a secret otherwise they will not be given a good price,” he says.
“However, due to the ability for our members to quickly compare proposals online, the
opposite appears to be the case. What we have seen is that venues are
particularly keen to secure what they know is a confirmed budget and are prepared to discount list prices
significantly as a result.
