Conference Aston installs electric car charging points

Birmingham-based meetings venue, Conference Aston, has installed a series of
car charging points at its venue to encourage visitors to travel to the
destination in electric powered cars.

The venue claims it has
some of the first car charging points
in the UK under a £11m CABLED scheme
by power company E.ON, which will trial the use of electric vehicles across the
West Midlands, local newspaper Birmingham
Mail
reports.

The project has been undertaken by
125 businesses and families in Birmingham and
Coventry for the
next 12 months.

“We are extremely keen to promote eco-friendly policies and are
always striving to find new ways to be more green,” said Conference Aston’s
Marketing Manager, Paul Bunce. “By having the charging points outside, we hope
to further encourage the use of electric cars among both our staff and visitors
to the venue.”
