Conference Derbyshire rebrands

Conference Derbyshire has rebranded itself for
2011.

More than 50 guests from conference venues and suppliers
in the region helped the bureau launch its business plan for the New Year at an
event at the city’s Roundhouse venue.

Visit Peak District and Derbyshire’s, (the area’s
official tourist board), Chief Executive David James says: “We are concentrating on what distinguishes
our area from others operating in the conference and events market, and we
believe that our reputation as a scenic location for films and TV
programmes is the ideal
platform.”

The convention bureau is working with VisitEngland as a
pathfinder in the area and also working with Derby-based agency Zibrant to attract events to the
area
.

Its 2011 plans also include; improvements to its website including a link with the
tourist board’s website to promote the ‘Business Venue of the Month’,
establishing mutually-beneficial relationships with new business partners and
setting up a Conference Derbyshire Ambassadors Scheme in partnership with Marketing
Derby.
