CCD wins 2013 Pharma conference bid

The Convention Centre Dublin (CCD) will host
the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) World Congress of Pharmacy and
Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2013.

After a successful bid by the Pharmaceutical
Society of Ireland (PSI), the conference will bring an estimated 3,000 delegates
to Dublin and
could be worth as much as €10m (£8.5m) to the local
economy.

“We are honoured to host such a prestigious
event at the CCD,” said CCD Sales Director, Catherine Caiger. “With eight out of
the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world based here, this international
event will help solidify Ireland’s strong
commitment to this
industry.”

The last time the FIP annual Congress was held in
Ireland was
1975.

The CCD also recently announced the
successful bid for TM Forum’s
Management World Congress

in 2011.
