Corporate meeting planners from companies such as Shell, ITV, Transport for London, HM Treasury and GDA Holdings Partnership attended event caterer Dish’s Discover Your Palette Workshop at No.4 Hamilton Place on 5 November.
The event was designed to show organisers how to get the best from caterers and create interesting menus in the form of a teambuilding event.
“We all got rather competitive in our teams trying to work out the ingredients and form the correct menus,” said Events Manager at Liberty, Dessi Greenwood. “The interactive elements of tasting and discussing where just right and gave me a few ideas to think about for forthcoming events.”
Executive head chef at Dish, Tom Gore, asked guests to recall their favourite and worst menus at events; discussing what worked, what didn’t and why. Julian Chamberlen from wine traders Goedhuis and Co presented an introduction into wine matching.
COO of No.4 Hamilton Place, Jonathan Byrne, said: “Safe menu parings are regularly used at meetings and events, leaving some guests unsurprised and underwhelmed.”
