Green agenda drives Farncombe Estate’s £3.5m new build

Managing Director of
Farncombe Estate, Mark Philip-Sorensen, turned the first clod of earth to mark
the start of the construction of a new £3.5m extension for the Cotswold Conference
Centre this week.

The new facility will
provide 32 bedrooms for the conference centre.

Farncombe has also
reinforced its environmental credentials by using materials from locally-sourced
companies to aid in the construction.

It also currently holds a
bronze award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme and Philip-Sorensen wants to
take the company forward to eventually earn silver and gold
standards.

“I want to make Farncombe
one of the greenest venues in the Midlands.
When it comes to sustainability on this project, we’re minimising our heat loss
levels and working with local construction companies,” he
added.
