Business traveller survey endorses Northern Ireland for meetings

In a recent report conducted by Tourism
Ireland and consultants
Tourism Development International
Northern Ireland, nine out of 10 business travellers surveyed
said
they would recommend Northern Ireland for meetings and events.

Respondents highlighted the region’s
diversity of venues, professionalism and quality of its conference product as
key reasons to conduct business there. Value for money was also listed as an
incentive for business travellers.

“This research underlines the quality
of venues and services which Northern
Ireland offers delegates,” says Deputy Director Great
Britain at Tourism Ireland, David Boyce. “Northern
Ireland continues to invest in its business
tourism product through developments
in infrastructure, hotel stock and venues.”

Conference and event spaces due to
open in 2011 includes the Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, the new Lyric
Theatre and the Crumlin Road Gaol.

The research recorded the views of
300 international business visitors, conference organisers and destination
management
companies.
