Brighton secures £10m via multiple Unison conferences

A total of 11 Unison
conferences, estimated to bring over £10m of economic benefit to Brighton and
Hove, have been secured this week through a
city-wide bid.

The events will see
thousands of delegates from across the public sector convene in the city between
2011 and 2015, and will all take place at the newly refurbished Brighton
Centre.

Unison conference and
events manager, Stephanie Grant, said: “The Brighton Centre offers the size and
flexibility we need to suit our various requirements. The city is easily
accessible with a good choice of hotels and
restaurants.”

“This endorsement is not
only for the city, but also the Brighton Centre. We have all worked to provide a
product offering that is reflective of both the needs of event organisers and
their delegates,” added Convention Bureau Sales Manager at VisitBrighton, Darren
Johnson.
