Three hundred mumpreneurs and budding business mums
attended The Business Mums Conference, organised collectively by SMB Events,
Mums in Biz and Family Friendly Networking.
The event, at the Thistle Hotel in Brighton, was the largest of its kind for the sector. Mums
who run their own businesses contribute £4.4bn to the UK
economy each year.
The conference offered the opportunity to acquire the
knowledge and skills required to launch and expand a business, meet with key
contractors and suppliers, find solutions to the challenges working mums face,
celebrate the many mumpreneur success stories and
Attendees, with a collective turnover in excess of £5m
and over 300 children between them, represented sectors from property management
to skincare, independent retail to business coaching.
Co-organiser Suzanne Borrell from SMB Events says: “We
can’t wait to run our 2011 event, which will build on these foundations and
expand the day further and we are already in talks with alternative venues to
accommodate delegate demand.”
