Venuemasters passes new tripos

Venuemasters, the consortium promoting the
facilities available for hire at over 80 UK academic venues has welcomed three
new members into its fold; Ushaw College in Durham, the University of East
London (UEL) and Number 45 Millbank in Central
London.

Ushaw College sits within 400 acres of countryside and offers 11 meeting rooms, a
270-seat theatre and grounds capable of hosting crowds of up to
10,000.

Number 45 Millbank, part of the Chelsea College of Art and Design,
offers Edwardian interiors in three rooms of its Grade II listed venue and a
mahogany staircase leads to three major event spaces on the first floor.

The University of East
London’s (UEL) Docklands campus
offers meeting rooms for up to 250 and has 1,170 en suite bedrooms for hire. One
confirmed client is the US Olympics team which is to use UEL campuses as its
2012 Games base, medical and media centre.

Venuemasters chief executive, Terry
Billingham, says the new members make a total of 12 additions since April.

“The variety of facilities and locations
covered is increasing all the time, giving event organisers a wider choice when
trying to find the perfect venue for their next event,” says Billingham. “From
modern facilities to buildings with history and character, there’s something to
suit all tastes and budgets.”
