Birmingham to host Green Party

The Green Party is to bring its
autumn conference to the Birmingham Conservatoire, 10-13 September. Organisers
expect 500 delegates for an event estimated to be worth around £500,000 for the
local economy.

The conference comes to Birmingham for the first
time and will be the eighth party political conference the city has hosted in
five years.

Birmingham, Ian Taylor, notes the Green Party Autumn Conference is the third
party political conference to take place in the city this year “and enhances our
reputation as a host of major political events”.

The Conservatives are due to hold
their Autumn Conference in Birmingham in October, and altogether this is a
clear sign of the confidence that the political parties have in Birmingham’s ability to
deliver a world-class event.

events taking place in the city. This includes the Pope’s visit and the British
Science Festival, one of the largest festivals of its kind in Europe.”
