Sodexo wins £14.4m conference contract with Stirling Management Centre

Specialist venue caterer Sodexo has won a
£14.4m six-year contract to manage conference and hotel services at the Stirling
Management Centre (SMC), an enterprise of the
University of Stirling.

The deal to supply services to the
101-bedroom centre commences 1
August.

The Stirling Management Centre is the only venue in Scotland to have achieved the
Conference Centre of Excellence Award. The Centre also operates as a three-star
commercial hotel which Sodexo will
run.

In 2009, Sodexo was awarded a contract worth
almost £9m by the University of Stirling and delivers catering, vending
and hospitality services to the university’s 11,500 students, 1,500 staff
on-site and commercial
customers.

Sodexo account manager, Paul Cowie, said he
was “delighted to be building
on the excellent work already undertaken at the university. We
look forward to working with the centre and to further enhancing our partnership
with the University of Stirling”.

Director of estates and campus services at
the University of
Stirling, Karen Plouviez,
adds: “Sodexo submitted an exciting bid and we look forward to the
commencement of the contract and further
development of the experience for
SMC’s customers.”

Sodexo in the UK and Ireland employs around 43,000 people,
and delivers on-site service solutions to clients at over 2,300 locations in the
corporate, healthcare, education, leisure and defence sectors.
