RMT strike forces date change for UVL Expo

Marketing consortium
Unique Venues of London (UVL) brought forward its next annual Expo two days to
avoid implications of any strike action, planned from 7pm on 14
July.

Due to the RMT Tube
strikes the Expo will now take place on 13 July, with the Science Museum in London remaining as the
venue.

Held in conjunction
with Visit London for the second year running, guests will be invited for
breakfast from 8am, followed by an opportunity to explore all 69 member venues,
including Somerset House, Kew Gardens and HMS Belfast.

Chairman of UVL and sales and corporate events manager at Merlin
Entertainments’ London Eye, Lisa Hatswell, says: “Following the huge success of
last year’s Expo, we felt it best to completely avoid the RMT
Tube
strikes by bringing the date forward. With 69 members showcasing their venues,
and a high volume of bookers and buyers set to attend, we wanted to prevent the
risk of any journeys being disrupted”.
