Lancashire Cricket Club posts £500k loss

Lancashire County Cricket club hopes to tap new revenue
streams with the opening of The Point; a bright-red 1,000-capacity conference venue
overlooking the cricket pitch.

Although the new venue cost £12m and will not open until
June 27, the venue, dubbed the
‘post box’ has taken £1m in advance bookings this
year.

Lancashire County Cricket Club posted a post-tax loss of
£546,000 for 2009, and construction of The Point has largely contributed the
club’s almost £8m debt.
