WorldEvents turnover and profits rise over 30%

WorldEvents Group
today reports group turnover increased by 31 per cent, from £30.3m in 2008 to
£39.8m in 2009.

Operating profit
jumped 32 per cent, from £1.1m in 2008 to £1.5m in
2009.

The group hails
new business wins across its offices worldwide and pledges to invest further in
its strategy of increasing its global presence.

The company added
11 more staff last year, with 115 on the books in 2009 and augmented its
European mainland hub office in Amsterdam with
‘spoke’ offices in Germany
and Switzerland. The group’s
US office in New Jersey claims a
record year culminating in the winning of a five-year pharmaceutical company
contract.

The group also
opened an office in Hong Kong in order to
better serve the Asian market.

Chief executive
Martin Parry is “delighted” with the financial results and says the strategy of
focusing on the pharmaceutical sector has “proven to be a sound one, with
renewed contracts from a number of our existing clients as well as winning new
contracts from global and regional clients”.

“The dynamics in
the market are definitely changing and we feel that by investing in our staff,
our global offer and our technology we will ensure that WorldEvents is in good shape for the
future,” adds chairman Graham Keene.

In 2009
WorldEvents
managed 330 events in 40 countries for over 33,000
attendees.
