The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visits Venue Cymru conference centre

For
first time since their Jubilee tour
in 1977, HRH Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh travelled by the Royal
Train to Venue Cymru conference and entertainment centre in Llandudno as part of their tour of
North Wales.

The
Queen visited Venue Cymru, which has recently expanded to include purpose-built
conference facilities equipped to handle up to 5,000 delegates, to thank
volunteers from across Conwy and Denbighshire.

“It
was a great honour to welcome the
Queen and Duke of Edinburgh to our venue,” says the Venue Cymru
GM Sarah Ecob. “We were delighted to be chosen to host this very prestigious
event and flattered by the excellent feedback we
received.”

The
Queen’s tour also included Welshpool, Bangor and
Caernarfon, where she saw Prince Charles invested as Prince of Wales in
Caernarfon
Castle in
1969.

Before
leaving Venue Cymru to board the Royal Train at Llandudno station, The Queen
unveiled a commemorative plaque in
front of thousands of locals and signed the Venue Cymru
guestbook.
