Echo Arena Liverpool first UK arena to launch app for iPhone

Echo Arena Liverpool, part of ACC
Liverpool, claims to be the first events arena
in the UK to launch an app for the iPhone.

The free-to-download application
enables iphone access to the arena’s forthcoming events, ticket availability and
prices. By linking to
the ACCL website, tickets
can be booked online or
users can use the ‘call box
office’ function.  The GPS tracking feature helps direct visitors to
the arena and gives
also local train and
bus information.

“Our aim is to make our visitor’s
experience in searching, booking and arriving as simple as possible,”
says Echo
Arena GM, Tim Banfield. “We are
confident that the app will contribute to bringing more business to Echo Arena
and the city of Liverpool.

“With an active Twitter and Facebook
presence we wanted to continue to engage with our customers on the technological front and offer them the
convenience of instantly searching and booking events for the Echo Arena
directly from their mobile phone,” he adds.

Also on the technology side,
the Liverpool Convention
Bureau (LCB) is to launch a series of top 10 guides, which will be hosted on its
website visitliverpool.com/conferences.

The guides include the
categories Green Liverpool, Historic Liverpool, Sporting Liverpool, Incentive
Liverpool, Culture Liverpool, Unique Liverpool, Extender Liverpool, Meet
Liverpool and Expert Liverpool.

“The guides
will not be exhaustive, but we hope
they will provide anyone wanting to book an event in Liverpool a flavour of the city and a great starting
point,” says LCB’s Carol O’Reilly.
