MCI boosts earnings

Gobal event management group MCI has reported
an increase in pre-tax earnings for 2009, with a gross margin forecast for
year-end 2009 of € 60 million, not including figures from its Danish and
Brazilian offices.

Although the past year saw “minimum growth,”
despite acquisitions in Argentina and The Netherlands, the
company notes pre-tax earnings up from 4.4 per cent in 2008 to six per cent in
2009.

The group attributes the rise to “effective
cost management during the economic downturn and a focus on winning client
partnerships”.

A company statement said “2010 looks
promising with organic growth of 15 per cent and with an excellent pipeline of
confirmed business, exceeding projections from around the same time last
year”.

MCI opened new offices in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo
last September and has signed an agreement with Suntec in Singapore to work together in the
Asia Pacific region.

MCI Barcelona reports its recent appointment
by the Microcredit Summit Campaign (MCS) as official PCO for their global summit
to be held in Spain in 2011.

MCI organised 10 major climate change and CSR
events worldwide in 2009, including the UN’s COP15 in Copenhagen, and MCI
Sustainability Services will write the event sustainability report for the
Danish government.
